The Sacral chakra is the second chakra and is associated with the colour orange. Here we maintain balance and understanding of personal choice.
Smells, sounds, nature and wildlife, foods and the elements all connect to each chakra. Foods that benefit the sacral chakra are: oranges, pumpkin, and eggplant.
Some areas of the body associated with the sacral chakra are: large intestine, kidneys, urinary/bladder.
When the sacral chakra is balanced we have the ability to initiate, have a generosity and willingness to share and have empathy for others. We are very creative and have a passion for life.
When the sacral chakra is unbalanced we feel inadequate, frustrated, anxious and fearful. We tend to have self-serving or shallow relationships, and have no passion.
After attending several classes, I found my sense of balance and flexibility improved so much! I can touch the floor now! Whoot whoot! I love how she explains the poses and tells stories, I don’t feel like I’m the only one who wasn’t able to do the poses fully.
The crazy thing is that I never thought I could do yoga. It’s only for young people, or super flexible people, not me. Michelle often said her teacher taught in her yoga teacher training course, “if you can breathe, you can do yoga”. Well, she’s right!
